The past couple of weeks I've been plowing through books on writing. Specifically, marketing and creating a platform. Everyone seems to agree. Blog, blog blog.

Isn't blogging kind of like throwing a party? What if you have one but nobody comes?

What if I really have nothing to say that anyone would want to hear?I don't get out much. I don't have a glittering circle of friends to fuel drama. The only drama I like is on a written page. I don't take vacations to exotic places–I have to think Las Vegas doesn't count as exotic. What in my daily life is so exciting I can blog about it?

Wouldn't my time be better spent…I don't know…actually writing? It would seem with all the things I need to do to have a writing career, there is no time left for actually writing. How does one balance it all?
